Vaccinium myrtillus contains anthocyanosides in a concentration ranging from 0.1 to 0.25% in fresh fruit, flavonoids, pectin, vitamin C and tannins.
Its extracts act as antioxidants and free radical scavenger, inhibit platelet aggregation, decrease vascular permeability and improve venous tone and blood flow.
